You can…

• You can talk to whoever and how many ever people you want to.
• You can sleep with whoever and how many ever people you want to (although it’s not exactly recommended for safety and emotional reasons)
• You are not obligated to care about anyone’s feelings that you did not agree to care for, therefore don’t need to feel bad about dating others.
• You can’t get mad at someone who is also seeing other people.
• You should not take any of your pursuees seriously until they’ve proven themselves and shown effort after a while AND a connection is there.
• You should remember there is such a thing as the 3 month front! It’s easy to be a representative of yourself when you first meet someone… so imagine how easy it is for the person you are talking to be AMAZING. Give it some time to see if that’s forreal or a front.
• You can pretty much run rampant in the streets at any time of night and not worry about respecting anyone’s feelings.
• You can be hoe on social networks… lol

Most of us work, or has worked in an office setting, and can smell “office romance” from a distance. Whether it’s that awkward elevator ride, or the hallways passes, we’ve smelled it. I personally think office romance is cliche, but at the same time, it’s a good distraction from a long 9-5! It’s also a source of amusement and gossip.

I personally haven’t had one, and I don’t think my fem-fATL ladies have also, but let’s look at the positive and negative sides.

Here’s a few tips:

• KEEP IT CLASSY!
• KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL: don’t make it obvious. Send out emails, and texts here and there, and once 5pm hits, walk as fast as you can to your car and make sweet love to him/her later on AT HOME, NOT THE SUPPLY CLOSET.
• DON’T GOSSIP: the last thing you need is to be the office slut. Not a good look!
• UNDERSTAND THE RISK: if you get into a nasty fight, remember that you still have to see each other at work.
• SOCIAL NETWORK DOES NOT NEED TO KNOW: If you are friends with co-workers online, yeah.. that’s all that needs to be said. Why befriend co-workers  anyway?
• FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR JOB’S POLICIES: some tolerate it, others don’t, so be clear and understanding of that. Is an eye candy worth your job? I didn’t think so either.
• DISTRACTION-DISTRACTION-DISTRACTION: yes, that will happen. Can you work and play? Don’t jeopardize your work’s performance for anyone.
• JEALOUSY: what makes you think you’re the only one?

Why bring your work home with you? You’re working for the same company, hear the same stuff, and stress out about the same problems. I guess it can be nice to have who shares the same views as you, but at the same time, it’s the same broken record player. Plus, what if he/she gets promoted before you do? That’s an argument waiting to happen. You will eventually become competitive. That’s another reason why it’s a nay for me. I am entitled to my own opinion, and it is true, you cannot help who you fall in love with, or attracted to, but at the same time you can prevent it from becoming more than a fling. I’d also suggest you date someone from a different department, keep it spicy! If you date someone next to your cube, then have to see them later, will you not be bored?  What about a change of scenery ?

So before you decide to open your legs, and be the laughingstock, think about the pros and the cons. If you are up for the challenge, by all means have fun with it. Remember, time machines don’t exist yet, so you can’t go back in time wishing you’ve never done it.

My name is Candas, but some like to call me Candi. I currently go to GSU with a major in studio art and I graduate in the spring time!!! (SO EXCITED) I’m also a shift lead at a yogurt store called Pinkberry. I just turned 22! I am so glad I’m not 21 anymore! When I am done with school I plan on maybe joining the military and continue with my love for  photography.

Some of my friends would describe me as random, mean, shy, goofy, smart, sweet, spontaneous, modest, humble, funny, crazy just to name a few! I love adventure and anything new would be a new challenge to take on, but I am very simplistic and just looking for somebody to love and return the favor.

Have you ever struggled to let a relationship go? Finding yourself time and time again allowing the one you love,  place you in a situation that is comfortable for them, but lacks the commitment you are searching for from them….

You find yourself constantly fighting for their full attention and recommitting, only to grow tired of wearing your heart on your sleeve as they grow more content with the path of the relationship. Hoping that it would get better before it gets worse, only to see the person you love the most further push you at the bottom of there list. Witnessing them finding life else where, you then realize that life has to go on with or without them. Relationships can be hard, but killing what’s left of it to regain yourself, can be even harder. I know the feeling very well, and with that being said I wrote a poem speaking on the very issue.

A Mother is a best friend,

Everything.  We often take little things for granted, and forget who she is. She carried us for 9 months, and raised us as best as she could. She never gave up on us, and always were right next to us during all of our choices, even the wildest one. My mother means the world to me, and she always will. “Not to sound corny, but my mom is one of my biggest inspirations. She had me when she was only 18, and I really admire what a strong young mother she was…and still is lol.  I am thankful for my mother for SOOOO many reasons. Her favorite food: Sushi! I think I could eat sushi everyday and not get tired of it. I love Blue Fin. It’s off Peachtree and the décor and ambiance is just my style, perfect for a date.

What she has to offer a man: Loyalty, spontaneity, and great conversation. Being loyal can not be taught, it comes from within. When you find a person that brings it out of you it’s a beautiful thing. I can be very spontaneous love to try new things and I try to stay on top of the latest.

Her ideal ATL guy: My ideal ATL guy he would actually be from ATLanta :0) No, but seriously tall, brown skin and has a big ego! I kid I kid (but not really). Just an all around good guy with a bad streak who is family oriented!

Things that attract her to a man: I like my men like my music… different types. I love clean dreads with tattoos and knows how to dress, tall, clean cut with a nice smile. It’s the small things that get my attention. The kind of watch you wear to the shoes that are on your feet. I almost forgot I love a man that smells good! When a nice looking man passes by me and his scent lingers its love!

What she’s looking for in a relationship: In a relationship I look for communication, commitment and trust. I think it’s sexy when a guy can tell it to the world that “this my ole lady and I rock with her!”

Just a punctual woman who wants to give my piece of mind.

While I was waitin in line, bitchin and complainin about the red lights and slow signs,

Uh, whaaaaa?!?!

Okay ladies, I need some help here.

In the age of electronic everything, people are talking less and less. No, I don’t miss pointless phone conversations. There’s nothing worse than having one of those late night ‘are you asleep?’ tennis match convos. My main issue with the technological takeover is the issues its caused with dating. People don’t meet while out and about, they get poked…on facebook.

I’m not innocent I text/tweet/facebook/tumblr/skype like everyone else. Call me a social networking floozie if you must. In a city like ATL, social networking is a must to keep in touch with all thats going on! As of late, I’ve been hit with a phenomena this internet queen can’t quite sort out. So, my multiple inboxes have been bombarded with messages riddled with smiley faces…from guys. Now I’ve been known to use an emoticon every now and then, but I’m a female. The first time I had a guy text me a smiley face I could do nothing more than squint my eyes, tilt my head to the side, and make the Scooby Doo confused noise. I really didn’t know how to react. Now, these cheesy faced images haunt my dreams I’m getting them so much.

I use smileys for excitement or when being goofy, not in flirty texts/tweets. I thought thats what the winky face was for. Am I violating the rules of e-flirting? IDK. WHAT DO THESE FACES MEAN?!?! Are you happy you talking to me? Are you putting them in these messages as fillers because you have nothing to say? Is it a nervous smile? A naughty one? Or a friendly one? Clarify please, sir!
