Take a RISK and pick out cute cuts and different designs!

When you lay pool side this summer at a pool party or at the hotel pool trying to catch someone’s eye, look extra cute by adding some accessories to your bathing suit!  I don’t wear anything too crazy (cuz I can’t afford to mess up my good stuff) but I’d definitely throw on a cheap pair of bangles, a bracelet or a cute necklace.  Beyonce and JLO aren’t the only ones who can pull this look off!  I also wear sunglasses as an accessory… so make sure you are rocking some cute shades!  I’m really feelin those big floppy, cream hats this summer too.  If all else fails, don’t forget to keep your lip gloss poppin!  A nice coral lip or a pretty pink will give you an extra edge.  Most importantly, don’t forget to lather up in sun screen!  No matter how light or dark you are, sunscreen helps prevent harmful rays of the sun from effin’ up your skin’s texture.  Not only that, but you’ll also make sure you don’t look ashy and dry.  Contact @UrbanSocial of fem-fATL for a style consultation to get your beach gear and accessories ready for the summer!

Quirky shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell is the go-to guy for ladies shoes, so I started there. After weeks of wondering, searching, and losing sleep I found my dream pair of JCs. God, I LOVE my Litas! I wore the beauties to the J*Davey Uncapped event and they were a hit!

Litas are one of the more popular Jeffrey Campbell styles because of their versatility. I paired mine with sheer, patterned tights, shorts, and a tank. Its NYC Fashion Week!!

For all of the fashion lovers across the globe this is a BIG deal.  From 2/9 -2/17 all of your favorite designers come out to play, showcasing their designs and hard work, that they but their blood, sweat, and fashionable tears into. Its a week of Fashion, Fun, and Frenzy.   Even though most of us weren’t lucky enough to score passes (Or a plane ticket) to be in the midst of the excitement, we figured we would bring it to the fashion loves of ATL.  My friend, NYC Photographer and Social, Taj Washington has decided to send some exclusive pics from throughout the week for fem-fATL.  You may remember Taj from the interview that we scored with him last year. Oh thank you based God! My sneaker woes may be over. I’ve been in a serious footwear purchasing drought as of late. In fact, its been so bad I’ve turned to heel shopping. A shocker. I know. Well no more! Vans recently teamed up with fly girl Santigold to collaborate on a shoe inspired by the classic Vans Tosha Hi silhoutte. The ish is kinda dope. Its an all black sneak with gold metal accents, including a santi-GOLD chain on the shoe opening and gold eyelets. The box they come in is just as themed as the shoe. My only issue is figuring out where I’m going to find these bad boys in the ATL. The streetwear selection for ladies here isn’t where it could be. Eh. I guess there’s always online shopping right?

I ventured out Thrifting while I was in Nashville one day…*random I know*…and I stopped by Thrift Smart.

Ladies of ATL, my recommendation is checking out thrift shops whenever you travel to other random cities, you never know what you may find.

I was lucky to come across 3 essential fashion items, all for UNDER $6 total

The Proof that you can pull this off under $6! My reciept

Item #1: Gold Chain

This chain can be used as a chocker or a bracelet.  AND if your really creative, you can hook a longer gold chain to so that it will be even longer.  During the day it can be worn as a bracelet with basically anything, and at night you can wear it around your neck with a little black dress or sweetheart shaped top.

Item #2: Sequin Black Clutch

Im shocked at how inexpensive this clutch was.  If I walked into any regular vintage store, I would end up paying $30 or more for this…INSTEAD I got it for $2.99, PLUS an additional 50% off with my student id (GSU class of 07, I still use that mofo!)  So you do the math!  You can use this clutch during the daytime as an actual purse, with the strap that it comes attached with.  At night tuck the strap in and use the clutch with your high waist shorts, stockings, and heels. Voila.

Item #3: Black Belt with Gold Buckle

This is a staple in my closet.  I have a Neiman Marcus belt EXACTLY like this, that I purchased for $9 from Rag-O-Rama.  Over the years, it experianced A LOT of wear and tear, to the point where my friends make fun of me for wearing it.  It was time for a new one.  Luckilly I spotted an exact replica of it at Thrift Smart, and for $1.99 it was mine!  This goes perfectly belted around a dress during the day time, and then belted around the waist of harem pants at night.  Find a belt just like this at the thrift store, and you will discover exactly how versatile it is.

There you have it!   3 Fashion Essentials for under $6!  Next time your out thrifting try to find items such as these, and try them with your day & night looks!
