Tired of black polish, but they do look great in this picture.
Thanks to all the dumb vampire movies, television shows, and pop culture culty fad shit, dark vampy looking makeup is back in full swing this fall. Ok fine… dark makeup is always popular in the fall season! Here to steal our wallets and make us fittingly emo, Chanel has come out with the Noirs Obscurs Collection.

Chanel Noirs Obscurs
With lipsticks starting at $30 dollars, Chanel makes me want to run away screaming as fast as I would chase after that boy who plays Edward in Twilight. JK.. not really. You can pick out similar colors from M.A.C for half the price if you want to add some pieces to your M.A.C kaboodle (you dork). These looks are hot.. I mean dark, but more fun to copy on the low-low budget way via taking that $30 and splurging at ULTA. That’s what I’m about to do. I’m going for that 2 for $5 dollars deal at ULTA (lol) and throwing in a pair of fake eye lashes (I won’t deny my filipino side hahahahaha).
I’m not trying to look like a vampire, but I adore the grunge look and black is an essential element. Look for trends moving away from black to dark toned blues, purples, and reds.

Try dark colored lipsticks in blue and purple tones.
UrbanSocialite and JustB are much better makeup experts then me and will recommend being dramatic on either the eyes or the lips but not both. So if you are going to do a powerful dark lip, keep the eyes very simple with a thin and clean eyeliner. On the other hand you can do dark smoky eyes with fantastic fake lashes, but then keep your lips in a nude color.

Be dramatic.
Me on the other hand, I say go all out! Check out Chanel model above… she’s working both and it looks clean to me. One way to achieve this is to be solid. Notice her eyes are in one color palette, no mixing and blending colors. Eye are in a matte black tone and lips are also solid with clean lip liner lines. If you are going to go all out, please, this is only for evening wear and keep your cheeks neutral or you’ll look ridiculous. Makeup and appearance is all a balance. So if you are going to be way dramatic on the makeup, wear something minimal… like black (lol).
