Tomorrow night @ 8PM (March 30, 2009) Sonic Generator will have their debut performance at the Woodruff Arts Center for FREEEEEEE!!!! This concert will be a combination of music, visual arts, and technology!
Sonic Generator is Georgia Tech’s contemporary music ensemble-in-residence. The show will showcase new methods for creating, performing, and listening to music. If you are a fan of music, technology, or the combination… or a fan of art in general, this is a showcase not to miss!
I saw Sonic Generator perform last month and was really intrigued. One of the performances used four iphones to generate music. Other performances included real-time generated music visualizations. To me, watching Sonic Generator was like being stretched across time: from the intimate chamber setting of the 1800s to the use of future/new technology being developed by the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology.
Tomorrow’s event will include a free reception where audience members can meet and talk with the artists. Moi (Futurista) & UrbanSocialite will be in attendance. Hope to see you there!

ummm wish I would’ve known about this earlier – do you have any footage? I’d love to check it out and maybe feature it at ContentMag.net
Hey Stephen,
Awesome site. If you want some content or photos from Sonic Generator, you can contact Jason Freeman (jason.freeman@arch.gatech.edu) who runs the whole thing. We took a couple snapshots on our own camera of us fooling around… nothing you’d want to feature! Unless it’s girls gone wild with technology! hahahahaha
I had a really good time, the visualizations were CRAZY!!! I loved the combo of the cello with the Oregan Trail visual.
