Ladies and Gentlemen of Atlanta, we are currently in a crisis of bad hair.
I promised everyone a topic on fine hair but I gotta switch the gears for a second. I’ve been scoping some of ya’ll out on your hair and you should truly be ashamed of yourself….but its okay, Miss bonitaApplebum is here to rescue you! I’m tired of seeing your kind in Lenox Mall with the newest Nine West sandals, a funky Dior bag, and hair looking like Monica Kaufman-Pearson from the 6:00 news!!!
So your hair is in a wreck; you’ve over-processed your hair, you’ve broken it off with the over-usage of extensions or ya broke ass been settling for cheap shampoo and conditioners…so you ask yourself, what do I do???
My answer is simple- treatments and trims or maybe even a funky cut to cover that embarrassing bald spot because ya snatched yourself baldheaded trying to take weave glued in that rats nest you call hair.
Treatments come in many shapes and forms so please beware! If your hair has been damaged from an over-process due to color but still retains moisture, consider a protein treatment. If your hair is over- processed and usually weak due to a relaxer it MUST be cut in order to remove splits all over the damaged cuticle (which means a “cut” and not a trim! If you have been fantasizing about that new Rihanna look or that 60’s Mod bob, do it) and then treat it with a balanced protein and moisturizing treatment. If you have lazy tendencies and your hair is damaged due to lack of maintenance in general, please consult an honest friend to tell you about yourself and seek a “beautician” NOT Chanae’ down the street who claims she will hook you up for $10.
If you have been fantasizing about that new Rihanna look or that 60’s Mod bob, do it!
Products to stay away from:
any HOT OIL treatments (don’t let a beauty supply trick you into buying any of these products, they are a false hope allowing your hair to feel good due to a coating but suck because they do not penetrate the scalp.
Products that I recommend:
First, that always depends on hair texture. If you have a finer hair texture, and you are in need of a hair pick-me-up due to color damage, I recommend Redkin Extreme Deep Fuel™. Its qualities are to restore distressed hair and provide repair. What is interesting about this product is that it has a 3D repair complex that consists of proteins (for strength), ceramide (for cuticle reinforcement), and natural lipids (for protective resurfacing) which provide long-term conditioning.
Watch for my next article where I reveal the new hairstyles for the Spring.
Until then…..*Smoochez*
