One of the weirdest shits that women wish for has got to be EYELASHES.  fem-fATL wears them all the time!!!  It is definitely not for the added protection against flying objects.  I mean, we love our delicate eyeballs, but really… eyelashes accentuate your eye line and give them a noticeable shape.  For most of us, a good mascara will do the job.  For others, “eye weave” works wonders.  They are tons o’ fun, easy to apply, and really open up or “pop” your eyes.

M.A.C. definitely offers quality lashes for their price (avg. $14) and make up artists apply them for you on demand.  However, if you rather put some food on the table than some hair on your upper eyelid, try fem-fATL‘s must-have lashes by ARDELL.  You can pick them up at Ulta… or even a 24 hour CVS for about $4 a set.  They have a wide range of lash options, such as M.A.C. but for much less of a price.  Don’t go cheap on the glue though because you don’t want to rip your real lashes out or glue your eye shut!

How to apply eye weave:
1)  Some people like to apply eyeshadow first, but I have found that either way works fine.  Do what you prefer, but start with no mascara on your real lashes.
2)  Take one strip of lash, left or right… whatever tickles your pickle, and basically draw a line of glue on the closed part that holds the pieces of hair together and blow on the lash for about 5 seconds  to harden the glue a tad.
3)  Apply the glued side to your upper lash. (make sure you apply the left lash set to the left eye and the right lash set to your right eye.)  Press down so that the glue adheres to the base of your lashline.  Some people like to use tweezers, but once you get the hang of it, this step takes 3 seconds!
4)  Let the glue dry before you curl and apply eyeliner and mascara.  Once its dry, you can sweep a line of liquid eyeliner across the top lid to solidify the lashline and make the lashes look more real.  Mascara helps join your natural lashes and your faux lashes while also making your eyes pop even more.
You just went from busted to beautiful in 4 steps using one of fem-fATL‘s faves.  haha Now, just make sure you aren’t talking to some dude and half your lash is dangling off… lol

  1. I’m a eye weave newbie. Thanks to fem-fATL, I rock my Ardells everywhere now! For a starter, I would definitely say use a tweezer to help scoot the fake lash to the base of the lash line. Thanks for the article B!
