With an extreme love for REAL fashion…

I really wanted to take the time to branch out from this popular Hipster vibe (click here —-> look at this f’n hipster!) and trend that has been taking over ATL,  and focus on a high fashion brand and name.  I’ve always enjoyed learning about and researching different high fashion designers, and exploring the creativity and designs behind their names.  I love learning about their trademarks, and seeing how they have became a major influence on many of the new designers out today.  I was recently looking in an Elle magazine, and I saw the CRAZIEST dress.  It was an extremely short nude leather dress with a colorful tiger on the back that resembled a tattoo…..sounds crazy, I KNOW, but it was hot!  And PLEASE believe the price tag reflected the indiviual unique style of the dress, it would take 3 x my salary to get that!  It was definitely something that I could imagine a celeb such as Rhianna or Sienna Miller wearing on a runway….only certain celebs/people with OPEN minds could pull an edgy dress like this off.  So I immediately needed know, who is the designer behind this hot dress!  It was Maison Martin Margiela.

Maison Martin Margiela ….

(I’ll call him MMM for short) is a Belguim born designer who began his craft as a member of an elite avant garde fashion collective called the Antwerp Six (he was considered #7), they were known for presenting ultra radical designs.   After leaving the collective he later started working under the famed designer Jean Paul Gaultier, before graduating into a designer of his own line.  He later became the lead designer of the Hermes womens fashion line.  He now has his MMM line that is pretty hot, especially for those that can afford it.  I wanted to feature a couple of my favorite MMM finds for all of you fashion junkie ATLiens to enjoy as well!
