I attended the Hell Up In Hotlanta art battle this past Saturday night. Great art, free wine, and a good mixture of people really make for a good time.
I had never been to….or heard of an Art Battle before, so me and my girls Toya & Kayla decided to check it out. If you didn’t make it to the art battle then you truly missed out! The featured ATL artists battling for the top spot were: Brandon Sadler, Fabian Williams, Charly Palmer, Maurice Evans, Miya Bailey, and Craig Singleton. The event took place at Stuart McClean gallery…I had no idea where the gallery was, so after driving around in circles (and almost driving us off a mini-clif…LONG story) I finally arrived at the gallery. Even though I was late, I was able to catch Fabian and Brandon in action, battling against each other….which involved a lot of shit talking as well! I was able to watch them battling over the 5 min figure drawing category, which featured fem-fATL homegirl Brittany Hardy as a model, as well as another very bold volunteer who agreed to get naked for a nude portrait….but remember, it was all in the name of art!

It was a lot of fun and the pieces they had on display were gorgeous!!
