Forever The Latest & Greatest Inspiration —-> R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Honoring a LEGEND

Michael Jackson passed away today, and words can’t describe how many of us feel.  I, just like every other kid in the 80′s, grew up listening to his music.  I remember I would beg my mom to play “Rock With You” over and over again because it was (and still is) my favorite MJ song, or sitting on the edge of my bed watching the Thriller video and damn near peeing on myself because it would scare the shit outta me, yet I was still so amazed by his talent.  I would watch the Jackson 5 movie all day long with my little sis (because it was like 8 hours!!!) , and we would talk about which Jackson character was the cutest (Jermaine was the winner!!! hahaha).  He was more than an entertainer with an amazing voice….he was a creative soul, a genius, a philanthropist, and known for breaking down many race barriers.  How many singers do you see today trying to emulate and imitate what MJ created???  TOO MANY…Sorry, but they will never come close to MJ.  He really played a positive part in everyone’s childhood, he is forever iconic, forever the KING.

So lets take the time to keep his family in our prayers.

R.I.P Michael Jackson…..We know you’re moonwalking across the sky.

  1. Thanks for putting this out there, so many people will forget that he is an original that so many copied. Continue to keep his children and family in your prayers.

  2. Aww… what a sweet post. He will always be remembered as the King of Pop. So many artists today have copied or tried to immitate his moves. It can’t be done! I felt so bad that he didn’t seem to ever get to rest in peace while he was here with us. The media and the public were scrutinizing him up until the day he passed. Not that his personal actions or choices were all correct… but he was a human and had been through a lot as a child. Poor thing. I hope he is in peace now. Great post Urban…
