Legs make great accessories for the spring time

I’m ready to bust out with my skirts and capris as soon as Atlanta makes up her damn mind on the climatical bullshit. Haha (seriously though… ATL is always on her period and can’t make up her mind on the forecast!) So yea… legs, a simple body part that can seriously bring the HEAT during the warm weather months. Some of us are work out freaks and already got this. Go you! If you are a little worried about your gams, then you’ve got some work to do!

We all can tone up though, no matter what body size we are.

Embrace the thicky thick thighs, the chickens, the musculosos, the shortys, and whatever you might have inherited. Encourage yourself to make YOU the best YOU possible.

With this said, I want to share with you one of my personal favorite leg work outs.

LUNGES!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are somewhat a beginner or have not worked out in a looong time (like since birth), then try some lunges in place.

Hold onto a chair, countertop, or something creative to support yourself.

  • Place one leg (leg 1) out in front of you, while your other leg (leg 2) is slightly behind you.
  • Now, just like a squat, lower your body, dropping leg 2’s knee behind you. The knee of Leg 1 should not past the tip of your shoe, because that could put strain on your knee.
  • Try 3 sets of 10 on each leg and gradually increase the amount as you push yourself….Also, try doing this 3 or 4 times a week until you build up strength to do advanced lunges.
  • For all of you advanced ones, grab a driveway, a backyard, or your home if you have space. I typically do a total of 90 lunges with every leg work out. I’ll do 30 solid lunges in one direction, stretch for no more than 30 seconds, and 30 lunges back the other way, stretch for no more than 30 seconds, and 30 final lunges to make 90 total.

  • The same idea here with lunges is placing one leg (leg 1) out in front of you, while your other leg (leg 2) is slightly behind you.
  • Lower your body, dropping leg 2’s knee behind you.
  • The knee of Leg 1 should not past the tip of your shoe, because that could put strain on your knee.
  • As you rise up from one lunge, bring leg 2 forward and that leg now becomes the front leg as leg 1’s knee drops.
  • This might seem easy, but it will kick your ass! Try this workout 2 or 3 times a week until you get to a desired goal and then you can reduce as necessary. Some of you may add weights as you become stronger and more advanced.

    ***As a side note***

     

     

    it is physically impossible to “target” areas of your body, although many people believe in such a misconception. So, please don’t discount cardio and dieting as necessary ingredients to refining your body in total! These workouts should follow some kind of warm up or cardio routine.***

    3. Wow, I love this topic. I would bubble in answer B on my scantron simply because God decided that he gave me too much Booty, Hips,and Thighs that he decided he was going to chill a lil with the Boobie area,lol.

      So with that being said. You know how they talk about Diamonds are a girl best friend,…I believe Lunges are, cause a dude is looking at our ASSets,…yeah I typed IT!!! Lol..ASSets, not the kind of jewelry we have on. If we don’t get our body right, how in the Hell would we get them to add to our Jewelry Collection:-)
      Lol!!

      As a Certified Trainer, most of my clients basically want me to train them because they want to look like , so to add on to the Lunges Post by my dear friend “Just B” (ya’ll I really don’t know her,lol).

      For my advanced Girlies out there, There is always the Walking Lunges, and if your really, really advanced, or just want to shock your muscles there is the “Walking Diagonal Lunges”.

      Any form of Lunges will tighten your Hamstrings,Quads, and Glute area, for those not familiar with the lingo, Your muscles in the back of your thigh, the front of your thigh, and Dat Ass:-)

      Diagonal Lunges: instead of walking or lunging straight ahead. For instance take the left leg and lunge right until you can’t no more, and as for the right leg lunge the opposite direction.

      That way ladies when your rocking the cute short shorts, skirts, swim wear, etc… you’ll be giving the fellas “Blue Balls” with your Killer Legs.
