I think it was a harmless protest. What erks me (like steve erkle) is the news reporter man. It's like he's holding back a laugh and he is setting the tone of the report as a joke. They are fighting for equal rights and more greatly for new conceptions about the body. To me the important thing about the campaign is bringing to attention the way we think about sex and our bodies. This is a tough battle. First because we aren't use to seeing boobs out and about, there is this stigma to the image. My mind associates the image with 'pornographic' not 'protest' and despite their intentions, the women seem reduced to sexual objects, which does not help their movement (but it does bring to attention that we think this way). All I see are the boobs, not the signs. But if we saw boobies more, maybe we would not make those associations or reduce the female body into sexual objects. It doesn't seem like a topless protest is really the best way to go about making a difference on this issue, but I'm not sure what the best approach would be. America, why art thou so shrewd?
